Bought 23 acres last summer, and it was raw land. However, it sits on top of an aquifer, so we wanted to get to the water ASAP. This system will supply water to a 1500 gallon storage tank, which will feed to our house down the hill. Your instruction manual was stellar. Your customer service was fantastic. I couldn’t be more pleased!
Total install took about 6 hours. I could’ve done it faster, but I’m meticulous and read and re-read the manual the whole time I was hooking it all up. Did it with the help of my 12 year old son and a neighbor (for dropping the pipe). Awesome set up. Thanks so much!
Hey RPS people,
Thanks and Merry Christmas
It's taken a while to get this done, between Covid, work and wild fires, finally got the solar system in and all plumbed up. Running great, but old well/hole (un known to me, well is un-cased) is slow re-charging, but by dialing the pump down works just fine. I'll try and explain attached 3 photos.
Ranch is in western Tehama County, winter range only.
1) Looking down from 10K tank to solar panels, adjacent to well/pump. Water is pumped up to tank than distrubed to several troughs and 1500 gal tank From 10K tank, water flows to two toughs at pens near Quonset hut, corrals to right out of picture, than small tough in holding field to left out of picture. Black plastic piping/valves is piping from creek if need to fill tank fast when creek is flowing. Might be able to see the "black" from south end of Zogg fire beyond Quonset hut.
2) Also looking from top of 10 K tank further to west. Black 1500 gal tank top of knoll feeds into large trough beyond tank. All gravity feed from 10K tank.
3) Looking up trench from well and panels, up toward 10K tank. Tank with smiley face in foreground Old and not in use. Used old basket ball stand as up right for mounting bracket, perfect length and dia. for this application
lots of trenching, all 1" piping, but feeds quite a few areas and keeps 10 K tank pretty full, so not having to pump from creek. Got it finish just before Thanksgiving and seems to be working just fine .
Thinking down the road, may try some sort of system to pump from creek to trough or tank combo. Problems: lots of sediment in water when flows are up, don't want pump in creek, may loose it in higher winter flows, long suction line maybe.
Glad McArthur Livestock, bought a system form you for their Dunnigan Cattle.
All The Best and Happy New Year
It is working very well. The pump is tied to a buoy in my pond and is submerged 2 feet below the water surface . I am pumping water to a tank on a hill approx 220 feet above the pond.
It only takes a few hours of sunshine to completely fill the tank (2500 gallons). Im very happy with the system
Thank you !
