RPS Floating Solar Mounts are made of durable UV stabilized polyethylene, the same type of material as many water tanks.

While these Floating Solar Mounts are made to last years in the sun, extreme cold can make the float plastics brittle, so we do recommend removing your array for the winter if your region experiences extreme cold.

The good news is that our Floating Solar Mount works perfectly on dry land! If you're concerned about leaving your system in a frozen pond, simply drag the mount onto the bank before your pond freezes.
