This system checks all of the boxes for me:
1. Provide aeration and water movement (catfish love moving water for spawning) to keep the fish healthy.
2. Keep the pond cooler during the 100+ summer heat here in East Texas.
3. Maintain water clarity and quality and control algae blooms.
4. Fountain for aesthetic value but not so large that it promotes evaporation.
5. Run first on Solar power, then on AC power as a backup.
6. Efficient DC powered air pump capable of running up to two aerators at a depth of up to 14 feet.
7. Quality installation hardware (304 SS), locking cabinets and solar panel mounts.
8. Easy to use. Easy to install.
Wish List:
* Rain sensor to turn off fountain/aeration during rain which is natures fountain and aeration.
* Cap ends for the aluminum solar panel mounting struts to keep the mud dauber bees and red wasps from building nests inside.
* Sealing connectors for the 3/4" and 1-1/4" knockouts that are used for the air hoses and solar wires in the Aeration Cabinet. Again, to help keep the mud dauber bees and red wasps from building nests inside the cabinet.
* Same sealing connectors for the DC Solar to AC cutover cabinet - AC power wire and solar wires.
* Provide a template that includes the four mount points and knockout hole locations for the aeration cabinet base to facilitate the sizing of a concrete mounting pad. The concrete pad helps with vegetation control and mitigates fire ant entry.
I used CAD to create my template (Cardboard Aided Design) for the concrete pad.
Started by calling the company. The people were helpful and knowledgeable. Product sent promptly, well packed and complete. The owner’s manual was very well laid out so installation was very straightforward. Pump and parts are high quality. There were several follow-up emails to confirm arrival of product, functionality, reminders of technical assistance available etc.
A rare case of great quality and customer care. All for a reliable product!
Thank you so much for the wonderful review and for sharing your photos! We’re thrilled to hear that your experience with RPS was smooth from start to finish — from your first call to installation. It’s great to know that our team, manuals, and follow-up support all helped make the process easy and enjoyable. We take pride in providing both reliable products and exceptional service, and your feedback means a lot to the whole RPS crew. Enjoy your new setup, and thank you for choosing RPS!
We were intrigued by RPS because they are made in the US. Customer service was not AI, and they seemed to care about the customer. There are a couple things that I would have changed. First, the instructions mention grounding the solar panels independently, and You tube states something different. I called customer support and told them that I put a 4” steel pipe in concrete in the ground, and asked if individual grounding was needed for the panels. They told me no. Mounted to the steel pipe in the ground was sufficient. Second, when I ordered the system I ordered two 100 ft. Weighted hoses. What I received was four 50 ft. Hoses. I really wanted continuous 100ft. Lines, but they were back ordered. Third, the hoses inside the pump cabinet were connected with plastic couplers that broke. I had to replace them with brass connectors.
Other than those three minor issues I am happy so far with the system. This will be our first winter. Hoping for the best.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review — and for including photos! We’re glad to hear that overall you’re happy with your system and appreciated our U.S.-made products and personal customer service. Your feedback about the grounding clarification, hose setup, and pump cabinet fittings is incredibly valuable, and we’ve shared it with our engineering and support teams to help improve future installations. We’re wishing you smooth operation through your first winter and appreciate you trusting RPS to power your water system!
While we didn't install the setup ourselves, our solar guy said the kit literally came with everything he needed. He was surprised and made sure to relay his appreciation. We've had it up for over a month now. It's beautiful and works just as expected. Living in an area recently devastated by a hurricane, it is comforting to have an off grid source of water. I'm a photographer and shared a film shot I took of the panel up and gathering sun below.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for sharing your experience! We’re so glad to hear that your installer appreciated the completeness of the kit — that’s exactly what we strive for with our systems. It’s especially meaningful to know that your RPS setup is providing peace of mind and reliable water in an area recovering from a hurricane. We’d love to see your photo of the system in action — it sounds beautiful! Thank you again for choosing RPS and for being part of the off-grid community.
At first wrong parts sent but customer service made it right and quick shipping. Everything is up and ready to go. My ranch is in Texas, I had to leave a few days early to go back to Ohio. Did not want to leave running until I can be there for a few days. But tested and all seem good.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re glad our team was able to quickly correct the parts issue and get everything shipped out to you. It’s great to hear your system is up, running, and working well. We appreciate your trust in RPS and wish you many reliable years of operation at your ranch!
