We have completed the installation of solar components and have water!
Here are a few photos and highlights of what we did and our ideas that helped or could be emphasized more.
The order came quickly within days and was complete. No faulty pieces.
The book was read and reread, and also we watched various youtube videos which was such a plus!
The great emphasis and encouragement to write down what wire matched up with the pump 1,2 and 3 was perfect. Memory can fade when interruption or time passes between different steps.
We would have liked a shorter attachment pipe between the pitless and check valve we added to our above ground system and was also how we attached the check valve to the pump at bottom of well.
The clamps seemed to be a bit long for 3/4" and we just wrapped extra black electrician tape to secure those clamp ends from catching our wires etc.
It is a 2 person job to get this done and I don’t know how a lone person would do all the steps and heavy lifting etc. Encourage people to acquire a helper just to be extra hands and support.
By the time we lowered well pump, and installed solar and pipe above ground a whole week had passed (2 days
to install technically or 3 days counting pitless install). We may not have had perfect sun on the panels but measured flow at 1.67 gallons a minute. We dropped pump at 100' (from top of well, 95 from pitless) The water was clear to the eye but we see in the tank it is cloudy dirty so we have further pumping to get it clear. No official tests yet just getting the water to flow was late afternoon.
We are pretty happy to see water from our drilled well, elated to be on this side of the well project.
I have set it up temporarily since ground is too hard to dig a ditch by hand right now. It’s a small unlined pond still in the works.....but water is getting a little clearer despite the clay churning. And it seems cleaner and doesn't smell. Thanks!
The solar system you sent me was exactly what I expected the install was easy and we now have water out of old useless well.
I must say this is nice setup from RPS. Everything was packaged nicely. This setup is being used for a retention pond to hopefully prevent the need of treating it for algae as often.
I ordered a cable to connect a series of batteries so I could run my pumps at night. On two occasions the wrong wiring was sent, so at this time I still do not have this wiring and have given up. Additionally, the downloadable instructions have not been updated with the products purchased and so had to view YouTube videos and call support a several occasions. Overall, I am pleased with the operation of the solar-powered aerator in my pond.("+" and "-" battery-to-battery and battery-to-controller jumpers included in every purchase) This what I thought i was ordering but never received. RPS AIR400 Solar Aerator is the product I purchased.
