Our team has been hard at work creating the ultimate off-grid workspace solution - RPS tested Solar Containers to power our own offices for the last two years! Our 20 and 40 foot shipping containers are outfitted with roof mounted solar power on the outside, and on the inside, a rugged inverter with power ready battery bank. Fully customizable to your exact needs. The durable container design is completely waterproof, protects you and your equipment from the elements and any potential security threats.

RPS pre-wires all internal components. Beyond mounting the solar panels on the roof of the container on delivery, NO wiring or assembly is required to have your own storage, living space or workspace ready in just a few hours.

    Delivering 10,000W of rated power output, this rugged pure sine wave hybrid inverter is capable of pairing with either GEL or LI batteries. Dual MPPTs provide 99% efficiency. Instant Off-Grid Container FAQ's

How will the container be delivered to my location? What about cost?

RPS delivers the container via trailer. Delivery is not included in the cost and transportation will be charged at actual quoted rates. Cost will be dependent on distance traveled, and calculated custom for your location. We will put out for quote on request! Sometimes it's surprising low!

Is there a waitlist for purchase or delivery?

Yes, due to popular demand and quality of workmanship, there is a waitlist for both the 20ft and 40ft solar containers. We’ll give you an estimate on wait time and a heads up whenever your container moves into production.   

How long does production take?

Approximately 30 days.

Is there a deposit required to reserve a solar container?

Yes, RPS requires a 50% deposit on all solar container purchases.  

How does RPS source our containers?

RPS sources “one trip” containers (used for only a single trip overseas, very little wear, newer floors) and “watertight” containers retired after 10 years (may have some dents and welds but the container is watertight with a lot of life in it!). You have the option to choose which type of sourced container you’d like. RPS cleans, sanitizes and checks for any contaminants in the wood before moving containers into production. There is a price break on “Watertight” containers,  Subtract $2,000 from the total price for 20', and $4,000 for 40'. 


What’s the warranty?

RPS offers a 2 Year warranty on the solar panels, solar panel roof mounting and entire Watersecure system (wiring, batteries, inverter). 

What kind of batteries are included? What's the lifespan on the batteries?

RPS uses 160Ah, 12V VLRA GEL sealed batteries with operation lifetime up to 15 years and 1,350-1,550 cycles (50% DOD) before they lose only 40% of their capacity. Compare that to standard flooded lead acid batteries and you will see you are getting 3-4 times the lifetime for about the same cost.   

How are all the pieces shipped?

RPS packages up your shipping container with all of your batteries, power components, mounting etc. safety tucked away inside the container itself.

Expandable Solar Power  

  • Utilizes 370W mono-crystalline solar panels
  • 20 foot containers can expand from 3,000W of solar up to 6,000W.
  • 40 foot containers can expand from 3,000W up to 12,000W of solar in the future.

RPS Scalable Ground Mounting

We love the strategically placed solar panels on top of the container roof  - we've accomplished this secure mounting with our field tested RPS Scalable Ground Mount. Check out the Scalable Ground Mount page + manual.

  • 2" Pipe required comes in the container on delivery and is cut to length for tilt angle of install site (recommended 25%). Customer assembles Mount and Mounts Panels on roof using included hardware
